PROJECT 4: SELF - TITLED

PART 1: IDEA DEVELOPMENT

1. Write a biography about yourself

INTRO

My name is Amber Tan Jing Jing. I am Malaysian. I am 18 years old. I am taking Bachelor of Design in Creative Media. I live in Muar.

PARAGRAPH 1

My friends like to call me Apple because I’m always shy and my face will turn red immediately, like an Apple. My favorite flower is rose.

PARAGRAPH 2

I like nature because it can help me relax. I often like to be in a daze and I'm easily distracted and think a lot. I love slow living.

SUMMARY

I have wild ideas and like nature.

2. Write a statement about your work

INTRO 

I want my work to express what I like and who I am.

I would like to add elements of nature and put my favorite rose in my work.

I want to create something like I stand among flowers, which expresses my love for nature

I think sketch#1 digital poster is the best choice, so I chose sketch#1 digital poster as my final poster.

Final Poster

TITLE: Life's Gentle Pace

ARTIST STATEMENT: 

I create art inspired by my love for nature and its calming effect on me. Nature helps me relax and sparks my imagination. I often daydream and enjoy the slow, peaceful rhythm of life. The rose is my favorite flower because of its beauty and symbolism of love and natural grace. My art reflects these serene moments and celebrates the beauty and tranquility I find in the natural world.

REFERENCES

Through this project, I slowly know how to use the Adobe After Effects. Sir gives us AE demo and explain about Adobe After Effects. I have learned some basic animation techniques. As I worked on the animation, there were many roses that required individual adjustments. My feeling is how long will it take to adjust these things? Fortunately, I manage to complete it in the end.  

Before this, I always use Adobe Illustrator to make animations. I think Adobe After Effects is smoother and simpler. I don't need to draw and move frame by frame. I only need to use those points and copy and paste.

Overall, I think this project was fun. Writing my own biography made me reflect on the kind of person I am and my interests. It helped me gain a better understanding of myself. It’s really fun to represent myself with a picture and animation.
